The City of Fridley requires certain businesses to be licensed with the City in order to do business. These businesses undergo police background checks for your safety. This page offers you some help with who to call for your next project and when to be wary of someone knocking on your door.

Solicitors / Peddlers

Solicitors or peddlers are categorized as any business that goes door-to-door to sell products or services; this does not include non-profit youth groups like scouts or schools.

The City licenses' haulers by type, please check the license type to find a hauler providing the service you need:

  • Class A: Residential Mixed Municipal Solid Waste - Haulers licensed to collect trash from residential properties
  • Class B: Commercial Mixed Municipal Solid Waste - Haulers licensed to collect trash from non-residential properties including multi-family properties
  • Class C: Residential Recycling - The hauler holding the City contract for residential recycling services
  • Class D: Commercial Recycling - Haulers licensed to collect recycling from non-residential properties including multi-family properties
  • Class E: Residential Yard Waste - Haulers licensed to yard waste from residential properties
  • Class F: Commercial Yard Waste - Haulers licensed to yard waste from commercial properties
  • Class G: Residential Organics - The hauler holding the City contract for organics recycling services

Registered Liquor Caterers

Are you planning on hosting a wedding or some other type of event at a venue in Fridley? Are you planning to serve alcohol at your event?

The City of Fridley would like your event to be successful and is here to help with your questions.

*The City of Fridley requires caterers who provide food and alcohol to events in the city to register with the City of Fridley and provide event notification information for each event it conducts.*

Choosing a Caterer

  • For your convenience, a list of currently registered caterers is provided below.
  • You may choose a different caterer, however, they must provide both food and alcohol and register with the City of Fridley at least 30 days prior to the event.

Temporary Intoxicating Liquor Licenses

The City cannot issue temporary intoxicating liquor licenses to individuals or businesses. Only a non-profit organization meeting specific requirements for a community event may apply for a temporary intoxicating liquor license with at least 45 days notice.
