Who had more fun at this year's Shop with a Cop, the officers or the kids? Thank you to everyone who helped make this day special and a little brighter for some incredible kids.
32 kids from Fridley elementary schools received a special gift from Fridley Police when uniformed officers picked them up at school to escort them on a shopping spree. Thank you to everyone who made this possible including the 29 volunteers plus Santa (our own mayor Scott Lund), Walmart for donating a $75 gift card to each child for holiday shopping, random shoppers who wanted to do their part with extra donations, and to those officers who went the extra mile to also donate personal gifts and dollars for the kids. And thank you to each child who joined us on this day. Their hugs and smiles are worth much than words can describe and they made our holidays a little brighter, too.
