Events

A variety of special events are held each year throughout the city, including the Civic Campus and Springbrook Nature Center. Search through the seasons to see what events are scheduled.

Most events are free, but a few of the events require a ticket to entry.

Typical events include Winterfest, Pumpkin Night in the Park, Environmental Fun Fair, '49er Days, a summer concert series and more.

Spring

These events typically take place from March - May each year.

Environmental Fun Fair

Saturday, May 17, 2025 | 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. | Springbrook Nature Center

A variety of outdoor and environmental exhibitors will be present to help us appreciate our wonderful natural world. This free event will also include food trucks and activities for the whole family.

This event will be held in conjunction with the annual Migration Celebration.

Fridley Community Seed Swap

March 15 | 10 a.m. - Noon | Moore Lake Community Building

Start a garden or grow something new to you this year with seeds from the Community Seed Swap at Moore Lake Community Building (5890 Central Ave NE) !  

  • Bring your viable extra veggie, herb, flower, and native plant seeds to share (not required﴿ and take home new seeds.
  • Get gardening and seed starting advice from Anoka County Master Gardeners.
  • Learn how to make your own newspaper pots for seed starting.
  • Attend native plant germination demonstrations.
  • Free starter pots and native plant seeds from Minnesota Native Landscapes and Anoka Conservation District while supplies last.
  • All are welcome to attend. No registration required.
  • If you can't make the event, you can drop off viable seeds in labeled envelopes at Fridley Civic Campus or Springbrook Nature Center during open hours, between the dates of March 10- March 14.

Fridley Community Garden Planting

May 16 | 10 a.m. - Noon | Civic Campus

Come out to help plant Fridley's free edible garden at Civic Campus (7071 University Ave NE).  Produce from these garden towers is available to all, free of charge, all summer long.  We'll plant seeds and plants - no experience is necessary.  All you need to do it show up with a smile and willingness to help!

Summer

These events typically take place from June - August each year.

Summer Concerts

Come enjoy an evening of music with your neighbors and others from your community! Our free, annual summer concert series takes place on select Tuesday evenings at Fridley Civic Campus or Springbrook Nature Center and select Mondays at Moore Lake Park.  Things to know:

  • All concerts start at 7 p.m. and last for one hour.
  • Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating - all concerts take place outdoors.
  • Civic Campus Concerts will have a food truck present before the concert. Food will be available to purchase starting at 5:45 p.m.
  • Games and activities are available at the Civic Campus Concerts courtesy of the Recreation Rec N Roll program. 

Are you a musician/band interested in performing at our 2025 concert series? Please fill out a Musician Interest Form. Selected performers will be notified starting in late January.

Fridley '49er Days

Fridley ’49er Days is made possible by the ’49er Days Committee volunteers, the Fridley Lions, Twin Cities Gateway and our sponsors.

Citywide Garage Sale

Returning Event - June 2025

The Citywide Garage Sale will takes place in June every summer. Trash to Treasure Day is the day following the Citywide Garage Sale.

Safety Camp

June 24 & 25, 2025 | 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Civic Campus 

Join Fridley Police, Fire & Recreation to learn about good safety practices while having fun, including a behind the scenes tour of the police and fire departments! Kids will also learn from our partners from Northstar Search & Rescue, The Raptor Center, MN DNR, Allina Health, Springbrook Nature Center and more. Safety topics include fire, seat belt, animals, weather, electrical, bicycle, first aid, water & 911. All campers will participate in our end of camp graduation ceremony. Included in the registration fee is a bike helmet, t‐shirt, tote bag, and daily lunch/snacks. Registration is open to children who completed Grades 2 - 4 in the 2024-25 school year.

Join us at the Fridley City Hall (7071 University Ave. Ne, Fridley) as our civic leaders read stories about their jobs and roles in city government. After each story, readers will take families on a behind the scenes tour of their workspaces. This program is brought to you through a partnership with the Anoka County Library, Mississippi Branch.

Touch-A-Truck

Don't miss this unique opportunity where vehicles of all types will be on hand for children to climb, sit in the driver's seat, touch, view up close, pose for photos, and learn about how various trucks work. Kids of all ages can experience what big trucks are really like.

Pumpkin Night in the Park

Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 5-9 p.m. | Springbrook Nature Center

Join us for a magical night of over 1,000 light pumpkins illuminating the trails, costumed characters, DJ & dance, fire dancers, food trucks and more!

When: Saturday, October 18, 2025 | 5- 9 p.m.
Where: Springbrook Nature Center
Cost: $12 advance ticket sales only. No day of event tickets sold.

Lantern Light Hikes at Springbrook Nature Center

Fridays | 6:30 ‐ 8:30 p.m. | Springbrook Nature Center
March 7

Bundle up and get ready to hike at Springbrook using the light of glowing lanterns to guide your way. Listen for owls hooting, keep your eyes peeled for elusive nocturnal animals, and warm up by the fire along the way.

Registration required, $5 per person. Children five and under are free. Please contact the nature center at: 763-572-3588 to register.

Please check in at the Springbrook front desk for the event. If snowpack allows, snowshoes will be available to rent for $5/pair, while supplies last.

Winterfest
