Professional Standards Commander: Lieutenant Patrick Faber
Established in 2025, the Professional Development & Standards Lieutenant oversees the professional growth of the Fridley Police Division personnel and agency compliance with standards. This includes ongoing training, adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and maintaining the department's professional licensing obligations. Key responsibilities include coordinating internal and external training, managing compliance with the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training, implementing best practices, updating policies, managing MAARC referrals, monitoring predatory offender registry, and working with city staff on licensing matters (e.g., alcohol, tobacco, gambling, massage, cannabis), licensing compliance checks, code enforcement, and rental housing.
Lt. Faber also supervises the Embedded Co-Response Mental Health Clinician; who is a licensed social worker.
