Volunteers needed for Pumpkin Night in the Park

Pumpkin Trail lined with carved pumpkins

We are in need of volunteers for our annual Pumpkin Night in the Park! This is Springbrook Nature Center's largest special event of the year. Please consider donating some of your time to this popular community event.

We are in need of volunteers for our annual Pumpkin Night in the Park! This is Springbrook Nature Center's largest special event of the year. It's a magical event full of jack-o-lanterns, costumed characters, fantastic performances, and family fun. We wouldn't be able to do this event without a lot of help from people just like you!

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities, none of which take place during the actual event. Don't worry - you can still attend Pumpkin Night yourself! Consider these roles:

  • Pumpkin (Power) Gutters - Use power tools with a special attachment to clean out pumpkins for pumpkin carvers. Bring kitchen gloves if you have them!
  • Pumpkin Carving Manager - Help manage our community pumpkin carving events! You'll check in carers, grease pumpkins, stack and count pumpkins, clean up tables, etc.
  • Pumpkin Carvers - Carve pumpkins! Help Springbrook ready more 1,300 pumpkins for the event. We'll provide everything you need - you just bring the energy and fun!
  • Set up - Help Springbrook get ready on Friday night! You'll place pumpkin stands, move benches, set up tents, pound in fence posts and more.
  • Pumpkin Placers - Place pumpkins along the trails of Springbrook Nature Center! We'll divide into teams and distribute the more than 1,300 pumpkins.
  • Clean up - Join us on Sunday to clean up from a great night of festivities! Clean up electrical cords, chuck pumpkins, remove pumpkin stands and more.

Please dress for the weather, many of these volunteer positions are outside.  We suggest bringing a water bottle or thermal mug with lid, flashlight or headlamp, snacks if you think you'll get hungry and a positive attitude!
